Our country is experiencing an unprecedentedly unsettling time. The painting was my way of processing it with a bit of humor to lighten up my heavy anxiety. Look carefully; you will see three letters, DEI, upside down in the background. Break dancing became an official Olympic sport last year in Paris, and it is called simply Breaking. The word, the style, as well as the history of this dance form inspired me to try this wild idea of pairing the dance and politics. The American flag is also upside down, and its stars are falling down!
